Abstract

The aim of this paper consists in analyzing and elucidating some of the main features outlining the dialectical method presented by Marx in his masterpiece, Capital. Through one of most important methodological problems pointed out by Marx – the transition from abstract to concrete – I intend to determine other unsuspected angles of analysis ignored by the Marxist criticism in general. The assessment of the abstract-concrete relation will be carried out by alongside Hegelian idealism, especially his logic. This approach is aimed at understanding the transitions between essence and appearance, as well as the logical levels of possibility which are set alongside each other. I shall analyze the relation between capital in general and particular capitals, but also income, by way of allowing to establish in conclusion how the dialectical concept of capital reaches up to the status of self-reflectivity proper to the Hegelian concept of Spirit.
