This translation is a critical review written by León Brunschvicg, Bachelard's advisor in his doctoral thesis Essay on Approximate Knowledge. It is possible to state that Brunschvicg was one of the philosophers who best understood Bachelard's text, guided by a perspective of critical idealism, the approximationism reveals the value of error by the criticism of realism as an ecstatic scientific perspective. The present text relegates us with an important contribution of generally forgotten texts, but fundamental as critical comments on Bachelardian epistemology.
