Foucault, the fifth threshold: the flash of possible storms

Abstract

The article presents a critical reading of the book Foucault, the fifth threshold: structuralism and queer ontology, by Norman Madarasz. Initially, the author argues that the structural method had never been abandoned throughout Foucauldian archaeological and genealogical moments. Then, he argues in favor of the existence of an unfinished project along the philosopher's intellectual trajectory that is none other than the elaboration of a new post-humanist theory of the subject. With that, from the reception of the most recent works in the field of neuropsychology, structural biolinguistics, structural anthropology, the philosophy of Alain Badiou and contemporary literature, the author offers readers a new generative theory of the variational and relational subject that could be seen as the current complementation of Foucault's theoretical project.
