Abstract

Abstract: The text is based on the notion that Brazilian philosophy is colonial due to the way it has been related to Brazil. This colonial characteristic is manifested even in situations where one tries to articulate philosophical practice with the rest of culture – within an organic perspective. It is precisely when we try to think of Brazil from this point of view, that is more intensely manifested in that colonial character of philosophy. I illustrate how a social reproduction system that produces disintegration as a result has been established in our country. This allows us to illustrate the cultural devices in force of the juxtaposition that predominate in Brazil and with which any pertinent form of philosophy needs to deal.

Keywords: Brazilian Philosophy; Coloniality; Brazilian Culture; Juxtaposition.
